Are you or aren’t you?

Emergent? Emerging? This curious mind wants to know. I’m still trying to figure it all out myself. If you’d like to discuss, drop me an email at monicambrand (at) embarqmail (dot) com or leave a comment here.

And if by some chance you’re from another planet, and you have no idea what I’m talking about, this link is a good place to start. (Get ready to bookmark, it’s a looooong post.)

  1. That is a good question. I’d have to say I’m drawn to much of what passes under the umbrella of the emerging church.

Certainly, I appreciate the emphasis on authenticity. I like the renewed focus on liturgy and the arts.

Emergent Village can get a little political at times, but I appreciate their vitality.

  2. I’m pulled in that direction too, Mark. That’s one of the reasons why I’m on a fact finding mission. Months ago I picked up a lovely book on Celtic prayer… I thought it was just me, living in my little world, but it looks like I’m part of a growing trend. The big question is: God-inspired or flash-in-the-pan?

Never been to Emergent Village. I spend enough time on the ‘net as it is, I need to resist all those temptations, even if it’s good stuff.

    Any one else?
