  1. Nice to meet you. Can’t get a sitter for the kids. They’re sick. So am I. But, I made sure to take a bath in Lysol, this morning. So, you should be okay. Lovely party, by the way. Thanks for having us and enjoy the rest of your week!

  2. Poor twins! The party killed their computer. I’m amazed you girls found your way here, even without me posting to the Mr. Linky. Let’s party anyway until they are able to fix it.

  3. Hello! It’s great to meet a fellow book lover. I review books at my blog. Hey when you publish your book let me know. I just did my first advanced review.

Hope to see you at my party.

  4. Hello Monica,
What a nice blog you have! It is a pleasure to meet you.

Are those names from the Narnia Chronicles?
Are they really their names? That is amazing then!
How do they feel about this? How do they explain it to their friends? I hope they have good senses of humor!

Since the site is down, I am finding the blog posts either through Google OR visiting a blog with lots of posts with links and partying the “alternative route”.

  5. Hi, girls, thanks for stopping by and going the extra step of Google to find everyone. I didn’t think of that.

Yes, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are from the Narnia series by CS Lewis, one of my favorite authors. No, I didn’t really name my children those names.

I use my real name here, but I thought it wouldn’t be such a good idea to use theirs’. Same with my husband. I refer to him as Doc (no, he’s not a doctor, that’s a long story for another time).

The funny thing is – if I had known I would have two boys and two girls, I probably would have named that way. Especially Lucy. Love, love, love Lucy for a girl’s name.

  6. Hi Monica! Thanks for stopping by my place! Glad you joined the party. I love to read, but my husband is the family book nerd. He is a book designer & has his own book blog (www.headsubhead.com).

Enjoy the rest of the party!

  7. A fellow-booklover? Awesome! I’ve heard of Twitter, but I’m not a member. If I join, I’ll let you know. (Thinking…) This is the first place I’ve been offered pizza. Thanks for your hospitality!

When you get a chance, stop by my party. There’s a “Hbrw” teaser waiting for you.

    Blessings, e-Mom @ Chrysalis

  8. Love your blog. What in the world is Twitter?! Clicked on the link and still don’t get it. Guess I’m too old. . . . I love to read too. Stop by my blog and party when you can!

  9. Linda, I’m glad you asked. Twitter is a fun way to let people know what you are doing… in 140 characters or less.

For example, if you look at my Twitter Tools, right under the header, you will see that I had coffee this morning, we had the rainy day blues, and I wanted Doc to get home to help with my wild tribe of children.

Now the best part is that people can follow your “tweets” or updates by clicking on the Follow button on the Twitter website. Of course, you need to sign up with an account first to do that. It’s free, fun and just a goofy way to keep track of all your blogging pals- as long as they are signed up too.

Click on “more updates” to see my public timeline for the past few days.

And don’t forget to add me to your Following list, so I can Follow you too.

  10. Oh Monica – books ARE our friends! :) I couldn’t help but click through when I saw a title like that. In fact, at my review blog my party was all about linking to my favorite books – one of which is by CSL, so yes, I recognized those four names well.

Sounds like we have a lot in common! Thanks for coming by to introduce yourself – its great to meet you!

  12. Hello. Just dropping in for the party. I’m not sure if those are your children’s real names or not, but you are clever either way! I love books and am a former English major who never taught. Now I like to write. Come by for a 2nd cup some time.

  13. What?!! Linda, you didn’t read all the above conversation. ;)

I have my BA in English too. Never intended to teach in a classroom. I did several years in journalism before staying home full time with the kids.

  14. Hi there, Monica! Look at all your new friends and admirers! I love seeing your picture up there, too.

Twitter…I’ve heard about for so long, but resisted. I’m afraid of all that time…twittered and frittered away. Is it like that? Or is it such a great social outlet that it’s time well spent?

Perhaps I’ll have to flit over and check it out for myself.

    In the meantime, party on.

  15. Hi Monica!

I clicked over to read about your writing success. Congratulations on winning first place! That’s quite an honor and definitely something to be proud of. Keep up the good work!

I too write and am a book-a-holic. If I had my way, I’d read and write all day, every day – okay, maybe I’d stop once in a while to torment my two teenage boys and kiss my husband now and again, but then, right back to reading and writing! lol

I always get so excited when I meet other writers. You know what a lonely profession it can be sometimes so finding a kindred spirit is always fun!

It was great to meet you. Hope you’re having fun at the party!

  16. What a great blog you have! It’s nice to meet you and I hope you are having fun at all these blogs!
    Happy UBP!
