I’ve been blogging three years now.
That’s a lot of hours invested here. And what is here, really? Just a small corner of the web. I think of all the time and effort I’ve invested in this little blog and I wonder is it worth it? Does it matter much in the grand scheme of life that I keep adding thoughts here?
I believe it does.
I may not have a huge audience of readers, Sitemeter numbers of great significance or the attention of the masses, but I believe what I have to say is important. Be it family history my children can read later to remember, observations of church life, or comments on a book I’ve read, it needs to be said.
And only I can say it.
My life is unique. My story is my own. The Lord has put me here now for a reason. Right here: this redhead Jersey mom with a messy house and the desire to share what I’ve learned, what I know. It may not be much, but it’s me and this is where He put me.
What about you?
You’re unique too. Your story can only be told by you. Make sure you tell it – write it down, even if it’s only in a private journal, not to be shared outside your family. Never think you are insignificant. Never for a moment believe your life amounts to nothing or you can’t make a difference in someone’s life. If you keep a blog, then keep going. Each one of us has a gift to offer a soul seeking.
Your life is a story. Now go tell it.

Amen!
You know, I have no desire to be a BlogStar. I’ve even contemplated dropping my BlogHer ads but I have stumbled some other fine blogs through their headlines so they’ve been worth it for that reason.
But blogging for me is all about voice and history – that I can create this document for my family to have for all time is just astonishing.
And it’s been a great way to reconnect with a community of like-minded moms.

What about me? I have a messy house, too LOL.
I go back and forth on this. “No desire to be a BlogStar,” I can’t say that, but whether I am or not is not going to drive whether or not I write.
I’ve been blogging over 2 years. I started to give my words a venue, but also so that I could get back in the habit of writing (with the goal of publication). Then I found that blogging filled the urge I had to be heard, and because I’ve picked up other gigs (like 5 Minutes for Mom), I have less time for my own blog and for “published” writing, but I’ve decided for now I’m going for the immediate gratification of online publishing.
First, I like your template too.
I think 3 years shows some real stamina in the blogging world. As someone who is just starting out, I have to say it’s inspiring to see bloggers who have hit their stride and write from the heart.

Congratulations on three years. Some studies have shown that most blogs don’t make it a month. And those still going after 1 year are very rare. You are obviously a committed writer. How many come is not important.
