Blogs need loyal commenters to build community

award

A blog without comments is, well… just a monologue. Blogs need participation, give and take between writer and reader.

Yes, I’m a big fan of loyal readers who take time to read my ramblings and contribute to the conversation here. This blogger thrives on feedback.

Marianne Thomas is my first featured commentator for the Say it Forward carnival hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom. Marianne and I “met” for the first time at last years’ Ultimate Blog Party and have been swapping comments, laughs, email and Christ-centered love ever since.

The day we meet in person will be a happy one.

Go visit her Writer-Mommy blog and her New Frugal Mom site, then go link up with the carnival at 5MFM to give a shout-out to one of your loyal readers.

  1. Hey Monica! You can add me. I pretty much have a blog to stay updated on my friend’s from back home. But I saw that you had a blog and figured it’s time to add more to my blog list! :)

  2. I know what you mean. I LOVE comments and never get enough of them. I run out of time in a day to leave comments on all the worthy blogs I check in on. But this post reminds me to try to do better.
I love your picture–it’s been a while since I had time to stop by. But like always, I enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work.

Lavondas last blog post..I’m SO glad I have holes in my head!

  3. Thanks, Lavonda! I figured a picture on the front page would make me more real and not just a voice.

Those first years of blogging didn’t bring many comments my way; so disheartening! It wasn’t until last year that my comment section grew into what it is today. People I feel I know and have a connection with. I can share a thought and trust someone will relate or at least disagree pleasantly. ;)

Keep doing what you’re doing, and before you know it, you will have many loyal readers/commenters too.
