For you Shack fans

From the Christian Post:

The publishing world sees very few books reach blockbuster status, but William Paul Young’s The Shack has now exceeded even that. The book, originally self-published by Young and two friends, has now sold more than 10 million copies and has been translated into over thirty languages. It is now one of the best-selling paperback books of all time, and its readers are enthusiastic.

Follow the link to read the rest of the article. To date, it’s the best I’ve seen regarding the church’s (unfortunate) fondness for  Young’s book.

    Well, that’s sad …

My mother gave me a copy and encouraged me to read it. I still don’t understand why.

What’s sad, Wickle? The linked article? Did you read it?

Mom probably wants 1. to encourage you in your walk with the Lord (that’s a good thing.)
    2. Doesn’t realize there are way better novels out there to do get that job done.

Go ahead and read it – then print out the CT post to share with her. Because if she’s like my mom she’s not online AT ALL. (That’s sad!)

    Sorry …

I had a complete thought in my head, I just didn’t put it all down.

What’s sad is that this is one of the few books to reach such blockbuster status. I really don’t get it.

The article is a good one, yes. That is certainly NOT sad.
