This About page is always the most difficult of all the writing here that I do.
I know the purpose of having it. People want to know quickly if this is a website worth their time and attention. In a web jammed full of the bright and shiny, folks need to make a judgement. It’s not personal. It’s the nature of the Internet.
But I guess that’s why I have a hard time condensing my life, my blog, into a brief About page. This is the personal blog or a real, honest-to-goodness, flesh and blood human. And I’m a writer by nature. I want to tell the web surfer too much or probably not the right thing because paperbridges.net is an emotional investment for me.
All this rambling isn’t helping the new reader here is it?
Sorry. I will attempt to give this About page a proper go:
I am Monica. As they come to mind I am: woman, wife, mother, Christian and homeschooling parent.
I have four children, referred to here as Susan, Peter, Edmund and Lucy. If you recognize those names, then we’ll get along just fine.
I enjoy a good read and love to travel. I have a great love for coffee, browsing in bookstores. I’m attempting to learn the language of Indonesia – a country in which I once lived.
I’m married to Joe. This is our coffee business (I told you I loved coffee).
We live in rural New Jersey. Yes, there really is a green size to the Garden State.
I like people.
As a follower of Jesus Christ, I try to be open and willing to say yes to what He has for me; not to be stuck in what I think I need to be doing for Him. It’s a daily adventure to find out what that exactly is.
I believe in the power of sharing personal stories to encourage and uplift.
That’s why this blog exists, after all.
Ok. That wasn’t too bad. I think I might press the publish button.
