Okay, this could be borderline cyber-stalking behavior
But it’s her and she’s too darn cute not to link. Doesn’t it look like she has a bit of the Irish in her?
Boy, do I feel foolish
Remember that bizarre little post recently where I thought I had met author Lisa Samson’s brother? Well, nothing became of it, so I guess I didn’t almost meet Lisa.
I had just sat down with my coffee, a few magazines to relax with and a small stack of literary journals in the Borders cafe. It was at night and there was not a hobbit-child in sight. They were all home in bed.
As I settled into one of those comfy over sized chairs, I noticed this guy sitting across from me. He had an Apple laptop, a thick file of papers next to him and he’s typing away. Sure enough, we got to talking about writing. He said he had a sister who published fiction books. Just to humor him, and to be polite, I asked him who this mystery writer was never dreaming it could be someone I actually read. So imagine my surprise when he said his sister was Lisa Samson.
Before he left, he told me to email Lisa to let her know how much I enjoyed her book and how he had met one of her fans in Borders. So I did. But now I’m beginning to wonder… was he really Samson’s brother or some bizarre cafe stalker who somehow knew of an author to talk about with me? The latter seems unlikely. I emailed Lisa that night, but so far, there has been no lighthearted response. Maybe she gets so much email and is so busy busy writing and mothering and living her life, she hasn’t the time to email me back. I’m feeling silly.
Truth be told, how cool would it be to have her comment here? A published writer of Christian fiction leaving a remark like, “Great blog,” or “Keep writing, Monica.” I really wanted to lure her over to my blog. Oh, well.
