Update on our Pastor

Remember my November post, asking for prayer? Our wonderful Pastor in the hospital, suffering from a suspected brain aneurysm.

The picture below was taken last week.

He’s doing great. From what I’ve heard, the doctors are a bit amazed at his recovery.

Thank you, Lord.

I declare this “Hug Your Pastor” week

Because ours is in a hospital tonight suffering with a brain aneurysm.

This is Dennis, with his lovely wife Kathy. I’ve had this picture on my refrigerator for months. Why? To remind me to pray for them, their marriage, their ministry, their relationship with the Lord to be strong. I never thought I would post the picture here, asking you trusted friends to agree with me in prayer, to intervene for our beloved pastor.

We never think these things will happen, do we?

So hug your pastor. And while you’re at it, pray for him too.

UPDATE: No evidence of an aneurysm was found. Thanks be to God! I’ll keep you infomed, please continue to pray as the doctors look for the source of the problem.

Free Thanksgiving Day meal

This insert was in our church bulletin today. I smudged out the phone number and address, since I don’t have permission from the Stanton General Store to broadcast this throughout Internetland.

I love this idea, an open table harvest buffet. Did you catch the end of that first paragraph? Today, we sometimes lose track of this meaning as commercialism has unfortunately overtaken this spirit of giving and sharing.

Sometimes?? How about all the time too often? (Edited to fix my cynicism.)

Does your church do something like this for the Thanksgiving holiday? It’s interesting to note this event isn’t sponsored by a church, but by a general store. Methinks there are generous folks living a bit north from me. (I must meet them as soon as possible!)

And to my New Jersey readers: if you want to attend, let me know and I’ll set you up with the phone number and address.
