How to survive in the orthodonist’s waiting room

With your tend-to-antsy kids, while a sibling gets down to the business of teeth management.

Ripley's Believe It or Not: Special Edition 2008

Behold, the power of the bizarre. My tribe couldn’t get enough of this book.

What is it with the gross, weird and completely strange?

Oh, yeah.

They’re kids.

Last day

poolside lounge

Tomorrow is our last day of Florida Vacation: 2009 (a.k.a Sunshine State: FAIL) and once again, it’s the long drive upcountry.

I’m so ready to be home.

Don’t get me wrong – I love spending time with the in-laws, hanging by the pool and exploring Citrus County (folks here are beyond friendly; they actually acknowledge you when passing on the street), but I’m ready to flop in my own bed, let the kids trash my own house rather than the grandparent’s, and I miss the routine of daily life.

Yup, I’m homesick for my New Jersey life.

Signing off until I unpack,

Monica

Captured! Little anole lizard meets little hands

First of all – I’m glad I’ve enough sense to be wearing nail polish. If I’m going to show my feet to the Internet, I want my toes to look presentable.

We keep calling this little lizard a gecko, but I think it’s a Green Anole. New Jersey is too cold for these little ones in the wild, so it’s a fun treat to find them in Florida. This video was taken at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park.

Enjoy!
